    Product Updates

    What's new at Dupli-Spot

Catch up on new features, polish, and bug fixes we ship for curators, analysts, and catalog teams.

    Improvement

Every tool, one click from the homepage

The homepage hero now lists all four tools right under the main buttons — Track Lookup, Playlist Lookup, Mini-Spot and the MCP server — each with a one-line description, so you can go straight to the one you need instead of scrolling. While we were there we also fixed a language bug: the site now shows up in your language as soon as it loads, instead of staying in English until you interacted with the page.

    Improvement

Keeping the MCP server fast and fair for everyone

The MCP server has been busy — thank you! To keep it fast and reliable as more AI clients connect, we've added rate limiting and usage tracking behind the scenes. Next up: an optional sign-in for MCP so heavier users get their own API key and higher limits, with a dedicated way to manage it from your account. Need a private or business MCP setup in the meantime? Email duplispot@soundniccolo.com and we'll help you get set up.

    Improvement

    A redesigned History page

Your lookup History has been rebuilt as a cleaner, full-page experience. Track and playlist lookups are easier to scan with artwork and clearer grouping, filtering and CSV export sit right where you need them, and the whole page reads faster on both desktop and mobile.

    Improvement

    A searchable Help Center

The Help page is now a proper Help Center. FAQs are grouped by topic — Scanning & Duplicates, Lookup & Metadata, MCP Server, and Account & Privacy — with a live search box that filters as you type and a live result count. Contact and support options stay one tap away.

    Feature

New MCP tools: search playlists & discover by genre

The Dupli-Spot MCP server gained two new read-only tools. Ask your AI client to search public playlists by keyword, or discover the most popular tracks in a genre or style — complete with ISRC codes, labels, and release info. The home page now also walks you through connecting the server step by step.

    Improvement

    A tidier, hover-reveal sidebar

The desktop navigation is now a slim icon rail that expands to full labels when you hover over it, giving you more room for your work while keeping every destination one click away.

    Feature

Use Dupli-Spot inside Claude and ChatGPT (MCP)

Dupli-Spot now speaks Model Context Protocol. Add https://www.duplispot.com/api/mcp as a remote MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-compatible client, and look up track metadata (ISRC, label, release info) and playlist summaries right in conversation — read-only, no sign-in needed.

    Feature

Batch Lookup opens up — take a look and request access

The Batch tab in Lookup is now visible to everyone. It processes whole catalogs at once — artist, album, playlist, and label modes with export-ready results. Access is rolling out gradually: tell us about your workflow from the new request form on the Batch tab and we'll be in touch.

    Improvement

    A cleaner, more honest homepage

Homepage stats are now live numbers from real usage over the last 90 days — no more static marketing figures. The hero focuses on one clear action with the Lookup search staged right below it, the Dupli-Spot wordmark is readable again, and a failed trending-tracks load no longer pops an error at you. We also tidied the Help page and retired stale "coming soon" placeholders across the app.

    Bug Fix

    Track Lookup page-load reliability fix

Fixed a "Failed to fetch dynamically imported module" error that prevented the Lookup page from loading after an app update. The app now auto-recovers by reloading with the latest build whenever a stale chunk is detected — no manual hard-refresh needed. The "Try Again" button in error screens also now triggers a full page refresh instead of silently re-throwing the same error.

    Feature

    Similar Playlists detection in Mini-Spot

Mini-Spot can now find playlists that are duplicates of each other — whether they share the same name or more than 80% of their tracks. After a full scan, tap the "Sim" button in the toolbar to see all similar pairs ranked by overlap. Compare both playlists side-by-side with shared tracks highlighted, then unfollow whichever copy you no longer need. Removed playlists drop off the list immediately.

    Improvement

    Lookup & Mini-Spot refinements

Lookup now includes Wikipedia genre redirects for smarter genre-based searches, refined UI and metadata handling, and preview player fixes. Mini-Spot adds cross-duplicate detection, analytics logging, Spotify API compliance improvements with "Open in Spotify" links and "Powered by Spotify" attribution, plus enhanced UI and bug fixes.

    Feature

    Mini-Spot is now fully public

Duplicate removal is now available to everyone! All users can scan their playlists and remove duplicates directly from Mini-Spot without restrictions.

    Feature

    Mini-Spot opens to everyone

All homepage CTAs, help links, and navigation now lead to Mini-Spot with a redirect from the legacy page, so every user can launch the next-gen duplicate scanner.

    Improvement

Playlist Lookup layers on richer market context

Surface the top artist, top genre, and the most popular performers instantly, dig through a rebuilt track table for deeper cuts, and lean on automatic label affiliation detection with a fresh label market share view—all without leaving Playlist Lookup.

    Feature

Lookup now unifies track & playlist research

Track Lookup is now simply Lookup and includes the new Playlist Lookup experience for richer metadata, previews, and export-ready tables.

    Improvement

    Unified Lookup History

Track & playlist lookups now share a single history view with CSV exports, artwork, and tab persistence.

    Feature

    Batch Lookup Clean Up

Removed outdated beta messaging and streamlined the Spotify connect flow for a calmer workspace.

    Bug Fix

    Mini-Spot Removal Position Recovery

Targeted removals now stay locked to the right tracks even when Spotify shifts playlist snapshots.

    Feature

    Google sign-in for instant access

Skip password resets—sign in to Dupli-Spot with Google to sync history, playlists, and admin dashboards in seconds.
