How does Similar Playlists detection work?

After Mini-Spot finishes scanning your library, tap the Sim button in the toolbar. It compares every pair of your playlists and flags any pair where the names are very similar or more than 80% of their tracks overlap. You can open a side-by-side comparison to see exactly which tracks are shared, then unfollow whichever playlist you no longer need directly from the panel.

There are no hard limits on playlist size. However, very large playlists (10,000+ tracks) may take longer to process. We recommend processing in batches for optimal performance.

The Playlist Workspace inspects Spotify audio stats like tempo, energy, danceability, valence (mood), acousticness, instrumentalness, and more. We use them to group similar recordings and call out suspicious near-duplicates instead of pitching broad analytics.

Can I use Dupli-Spot from Claude, ChatGPT, or another AI assistant?

Yes. Dupli-Spot runs a public MCP (Model Context Protocol) server so AI assistants can look up music data for you directly. Add the endpoint https://www.duplispot.com/api/mcp as a Streamable HTTP MCP server in a client that supports it — for example Claude Desktop's connectors, ChatGPT, or any MCP-compatible app. No sign-in or API key is needed because every tool is read-only. Once connected, you can ask the assistant to look up a track (by name, Spotify or Apple Music URL, or ISRC code), summarise a public Spotify playlist, or report our recent usage stats. For duplicate cleanup itself, open Mini-Spot on the site — that still needs your Spotify login.

Do I need a Spotify account to use Dupli-Spot?

Mini-Spot is accessible to everyone, but you'll need to connect your Spotify account to scan playlists and remove duplicates. Track Lookup and Global Search can be used without signing in.

Is my Spotify data safe?

Absolutely. We only request read access to your playlists and never store your music data permanently. All operations are performed securely and you can disconnect at any time.

Is it safe to use Dupli-Spot?

Yes. Dupli-Spot only requests the Spotify permissions it needs, uses read-only access for scans, and stores account data using encrypted Supabase infrastructure. You can disconnect Spotify or delete your account at any time and all cached playlist data is purged automatically.

How long is my data stored?

Track Lookup history stays in your browser until you clear it. Account activity (like scans and playlist actions) is retained while your account is active so history and undo continue to work. Deleting your account or clearing history immediately removes the associated records from our systems.

Does the app work offline?

Track Lookup and Mini-Spot require internet connection for API calls. However, your search history and cached results are available offline for reference.
